I will just leave it as it is so that you can look back a few years later that what we did during this period.

'Dry' Ma La Hotpot

Have you heard of or seen something that taste like Ma La Hotpot but it is dry (no soup)
Son3, Daughter1, Daughter1Son1, Daughter1Daughter1 met for lunch at 313 to try this DRY Ma La Pot.
This is the stall, at one corner of the 313 food court.
This is the 'hotpot'. Don't looks like it but it has very
similar taste to Ma La hotpot that you eat elsewhere.

We know more or less what to order from the first time experience and this is how it goes. Only Daughter1Son1 and Daughter1Daughter1 present for this time round but we ordered more or less the same quantity and finished it all. Rice is option but I think it is a must when you are eating this dry hotpot.

Son3 managed to get 8 tickets for him (and us) to bring Ah Mah to her inaugural NDP parade this year. Despite it not being the real thing but just a preview, Ah Mah was elated and very happy on that day. She even got a chance to shake hands with Michael Palmer who was there in place of the President as Reviewing Officer. (Reviewer of the parade). Had it been the real parade, Ah mah might have had shook hands with the President, given the position that we were sitting at.

On 15th Jul 2012, Son3 and Daughter1Son1 went to support a 'record breaking' feat organized by IRAS of having 2012 curry fish head served in a single event .While things looks rosy in the picture, it wasn't during that time as we have to ensure a 3 hours long wait (for the fish head to be prepared, served, counted) before we can enjoy our dinner. We reached at 6pm and only had the first taste of food at 9pm. Still it was worth as (1) Son3 knew someone who knew the organizer so we got the tickets at 1/2 price. (2) There were 2 fish heads on the table which nobody wanted (they have to serve 10 on each table but our table, there was only 7...maths fail...) so we took them back for Son1 and family. (3) The other food served in a buffet style was not bad either. Here are the photos. Enjoy!

Actually, with the hype of Oasis restaurant, Havelock Rd Teochew porridge, I think that un-arguable, this is one of the best in Singapore. The dishes doesn't look that impressive but the taste is fantastic.
A little on a salty side though.
